This recognition marks an important milestone in Xi Bassile’s journey as a Mozambican startup developing innovative nature-based solutions for more resilient and sustainable cities.

The ESEA Grant will support Xi Bassile’s operations and contribute to strengthening the company’s capacity to advance solutions that respond to pressing urban challenges, particularly those related to climate change, water management and urban resilience.

As cities across Africa face increasing pressures from flooding, climate variability, rapid urbanisation and inadequate infrastructure, Xi Bassile is committed to exploring solutions that work with nature to address these challenges. Through nature-based solutions and green infrastructure, the company seeks to contribute to greener, more adaptable and resilient urban environments.

The ESEA Grant is an initiative focused on empowering African entrepreneurs developing solutions with the potential to contribute to sustainable development and climate resilience.

Xi Bassile extends its sincere gratitude to Village Capital, Norad – Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, and ideiaLab for their trust and continued commitment to supporting African entrepreneurs building solutions for a more sustainable future.
